Over the years we have received many accolades from persons who benefitted from the assistance they received from the Community Center. It’s an amazing feeling for us to see people being assisted and receiving the right items they need at the right time. Additionally, many have commented on our warm and friendly service and the smiles given by our volunteers while assisting those who come to the center for help. We treat everyone the way we wish to be treated and that is greatly appreciated.
Our records indicate that we are servicing people from West End, Eight Mile Rock, Pinder’s Point, Freeport, High Rock, and East End. There are many people who depend on us to make it from month to month. This is confirmed when they never miss their appointment to receive their food bags. So, we realize that we are making a difference in the community of Grand Bahama. We are certain that our presence would be deeply missed if we were not here.
Our goal is to add a soup kitchen to what we are currently doing, so that we can serve one (1) hot meal, five (5) days a week. This will be done from our Hurricane Shelter. Our Hurricane Shelter will also be used for seminars and other services that would benefit the general community of Grand Bahama.
